Rangasthalam becomes the Highest – collected Indian movie in Japan on Day1
“Rangasthalam” was released in Japan on Friday, July 14th, and grossed 2.5 million yen in 70 screens on Day 1. This is said to be the highest opening day gross for any Indian film in Japan.
Ram Charan cemented himself as a truly global star following the RRR frenzy in Japan, where fans lavished praise on the actor.
In its full run, the film collected ₹215+ crores gross (₹123 cr share) from the global box office with most of the collection coming from Telugu states alone. As per trade analysts, the Japanese box office has shown trends in a way that the advance bookings of Rangasthalam are bigger than the KGF series.
With RRR being the highest-grossing Indian film in Japan with more than ₹100 crores in collection, we have to see how much Rangasthalm could pull off. The sentimental scenes, the hero’s characterisation and the end-twist might work big time for a Japanese audience, while its success will further expand the market of the mega power star globally. Let’s see what happens.
